Boys and Girls - Grades K-8

Our "Little Dribblers" K-2nd grade Boys and Girls program will be an amazing opportunity for our coaching staff and older players to work directly with our 'little' up-and-coming Blackhawk Basketball Stars!! There will be 4 amazing Saturday morning sessions, (Locations TBD), where we will introduce your child to the fast paced and exciting game of basketball.  We will walk through the very basics of the game, teach individual skills that they will need to know as well as offensive and defensive team concepts.  Lastly, we will be playing many fun and competitive drills and games to help promote a love for the game of basketball!

11/18/23 - Sat, 8:30-9:45am @ Viking Middle School
12/2/23 - Sat, 8:30-9:45am @ Viking Middle School

COST: $45

BOYS & GIRLS LITTLE DRIBBLERS - DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION: 10/15/23 (EXTENDED DEADLINE)
Registration is still available up until the first day of camp; however, shirts may not be available right away for registrations received after 10/15/23.

Our 3rd & 4th Grade Boys and Girls programs are designed for individual skill development as well as beginning to build team offensive and defensive concepts.  Beyond X's and O's, we want to continue fostering a hard-working, fun, and exciting environment for the kids to grow their love of basketball!  All registrants will be separated into equally skilled teams with a head coach who will schedule 2 practices per week, beginning sometime late Oct/early Nov. and ending sometime December/January. 

Each team will have the opportunity to be involved in GNBL (Great Northwest Basketball League) "Non-competitive Sessions".  These "Sessions" give the kids an opportunity to play against other schools in a purely educational style game.  In these "Sessions", there is live play with no scorekeeping.  Also, coaches call the fouls and are able to stop play at any point to teach and direct the players good basketball techniques.  4th Grade teams may also be able to enroll into competitive GNBL tournaments from Dec. through February. 

COST: $80 Registration Fee, $26 Jersey Fee (only if needed - can use previous year jersey)

Our 5th - 8th Grade Boys and Girls programs are designed to further develop individual basketball skills as well as to continue to build team offensive and defensive concepts.  At this level, we will begin to have a more competitive environment, coaching more specifics to the game with a more fast-paced, exciting, and competitive style. 5th grade teams, similar to 3rd and 4th grade, will still be selected with the intent of creating equally skilled teams with as equal playing time as possible.  For 6th - 8th grade teams, if there are enough participants for multiple teams per grade (6th - 8th),  they will be split into A/B teams based on tryout evaluations.

Each team (5th - 8th grade) will have a minimum of 2 practices per week, and the season will be sometime between October and March. 

* 5/6 Boys' and Girls' GNLB season will start at the end of October and could run into March

*7/8 Girls' GNBL season typically will start in late October - December. VMS school ball will start in January and will run through the end of February. 

*7/8 Boys' GNBL season typically runs from January into March. VMS school ball season starts mid-October through December. 

Each team will have the opportunity to be involved in 5-8 GNBL (Great Northwest Basketball League) sponsored tournaments.  These tournaments are 1 day tournaments held on Saturdays, with a minimum of 3 games per tournament.   

COST: $80 Registration, $45 Jersey, $30 Shorts (if you do not need new jersey or shorts, the registration fee is the only cost) 

*5th graders will need to purchase a BWBA Game Jersey and Shorts. Jerseys will remain the same as the years progress unless you see fit to purchase again.

We are aware that not all families are able to have the financial capabilities to cover all of the expenses for their child/children playing sports and being involved in all that is available to them these days.  If you would like to discuss with us the various payment options available: installment payments, discounts, etc. Please e-mail us at BWBasketballAssociation@gmail.com.  We do not want to have any child left out because of financial circumstances!!
